Maintenance of Automated Production Lines

Feb 09, 2026

Automated production lines save significant time and costs, making their maintenance a hot topic in industrialized cities. Maintenance primarily relies on a collaborative effort between operators and maintenance workers.

Two main methods for maintaining automated production lines:

1. Synchronous Repair Method: During production, if a fault is discovered, repairs are avoided as much as possible; a maintenance approach is adopted. Production continues until holidays, when maintenance workers and operators work together to repair all problems simultaneously. The equipment resumes normal full-line production on Monday.

2. Sectional Repair Method: If an automated production line has a major problem with a long repair time, the synchronous repair method cannot be used. In this case, holidays are utilized to have maintenance workers and operators work together to repair a specific section. The remaining section is repaired on the next holiday, ensuring uninterrupted production during working hours. Additionally, proactive maintenance methods should be employed in management. Installing timers in the equipment to record operating time and applying wear patterns to predict the wear of vulnerable parts allows for early replacement of these parts, preventing potential faults and ensuring full-capacity production.
